Post of Assistant Director of Studies

Teacher of English as a Foreign Language

     
  Minimum qualification: TEFL (CTEFLA, CELTA, etc), and degree.

Briefly, our school teaches English and ESP courses to adults in mostly year-long courses. Our core of tutors are on one - year contracts. Our school is small but growing rapidly. We aim to expand our range of public and intensive courses.

Expansion has made available the position of Assistant DoS and the minimum requirement is: a recognised TEFL qualification; that the candidate has an extensive understanding of teaching methodology and is an inspirational teacher. Having had a previous position of responsibility would be useful.

The ADoS will lead a team of teachers, be involved in day to day problem solving and develop courses. The ADoS will have the assistance of a secretary. The successful candidate will take over some duties presently performed by myself and thus there is the opportunity to become involved with longer term strategic planning. I would expect candidates to have an honest understanding of their own strengths and weaknesses and to be able to show clearly what they believe they could bring to the school, their objectives for expansion or improvements in quality, evidence that they have the necessary creative capacity or experience and to be able to show how they believe they could go about carrying out their aims.
